I am thirsty
swimming in a river bed
a glistening cold
writhing
stirs
inside me
I am starving
a parched
and wild flower
pressed by the desert extreme
a seed breaking earth
seeking
I turn my face to God
I am striving
I am longing
for what is already mine
for what is already mine
Digging my hands deep
into the dark dirt
Wanting to bury myself
into the mother land
I drink
deep from her soul
I am thirsty
blood sweat tears
course my everyday
filling in the cracks
that were my yesterday
